Job summary

DASCO is seeking a Healthcare Professional to educate and assist patients, including instruction on home respiratory equipment. The role may deliver and set up devices, review care plans, and support the continuum of care while adhering to HIPAA and regulatory standards.

This Per Diem, PRN position involves hours as needed with optional after-hours on-call coverage. Travel to patient homes and clinics is required to support patients and caregivers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Professional licensure or certification CRT, RRT, RN, or LPN (Certified, Registered or Licensed Respiratory Therapist, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse).
• Six months’ experience in a clinical services role.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients/family/caregivers including explaining diagnosis, personal care, symptom recognition, equipment use and care.
• May deliver and set up respiratory equipment and provide related patient instruction in line with physician orders.
• Supports the continuum of care by creating/overseeing care plans, communicating with physicians or clinicians, and resolving patient care issues where possible.
• Maintains current knowledge of DASCO equipment and services; may assist with quality control and equipment maintenance.
• Maintains understanding of insurance benefits, coverage and patient costs to explain to patients/caregivers.
• Keeps compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission, State Respiratory Care Board and other applicable rules and regulations.
• Keeps licensure/certification requirements current including CEU compliance.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
