Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Extern to support RT staff in the ED, Trauma and Critical Care areas at Pembroke Pines, FL. The extern will help maintain equipment, assist with procedures, and contribute to patient education under supervision.

Requirements include enrollment in an approved Respiratory Therapy program, completion of at least the first year, and ability to obtain a Respiratory License within 120 days of graduation. ACLS/BLS credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an Associate of Science in Respiratory program and completion of first year.
• Active enrollment and ability to complete Respiratory Therapy program requirements.
• Must have completed at least one year of the program and obtain Respiratory License within 120 days post-graduation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and disinfect respiratory equipment and supplies.
• Assist RTs with procedures and patient transport.
• Educate patients about COPD, asthma, and smoking cessation under RT supervision.
• Prepare and manage essential respiratory equipment and logs.
• Deliver equipment and support RTs in assigned areas.
