Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY, is seeking a Per Diem Respiratory Therapist for a flex shift at Allen Hospital. This adult inpatient/outpatient position requires on-site work with a minimum of 2 days (15 hours) per month and one weekend shift per quarter.

Under physician supervision, you will perform treatments and supervise Respiratory Technicians. Required are an AS degree in Respiratory Therapy, NYS licensure, and BCLS; pediatric experience and RRT/CRT are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Applied Science and Respiratory Therapy is required.
• Current NYS Respiratory Therapist License is required.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (BCLS) is required.
• Pediatric experience and RRT/CRT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a licensed physician, the Respiratory Therapist will perform various treatments, therapies, invasive and non-invasive procedures.
• The Registered Respiratory Therapist will clinically supervise and monitor clinical activities of Respiratory Technicians as described within the licensure law.
• Respiratory Therapists assist in transportation of incubated patients with the special emphasis in maintaining airways and providing adequate ventilation and oxygenation.
• Assess modalities of respiratory therapy, recommend changes - including improvements appropriate to the delivery of respiratory care.
