Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Respiratory Care Equipment Technician to join the Respiratory Care team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. This Per Diem role offers hands-on experience in cleaning, processing, assembling, and maintaining respiratory care equipment essential for patient care.

You will work with infection control practices, oxygen/aerosol checks, and EKG procedures while collaborating with healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• No previous work experience required.
• Experience in a patient care setting.
• Familiarity with patient care equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean, maintain, and assemble respiratory care equipment per cleaning, sterilization, and infection control procedures.
• Operate equipment processing machinery, including the Pasteurmatic washer, per established procedures.
• Maintain equipment and supply rooms, ensuring inventory according to par levels and oxygen cylinder availability.
• Follow Body Substance Precautions and ensure separation of clean and contaminated equipment/work areas.
• Perform and document oxygen and aerosol checks as required.
• Perform EKG tracings, respond to STAT requests, and complete required documentation.
