Job summary

Covenant Living Communities and Services is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in Evanston, IL to ensure quality care through assessment and monitoring. The role includes direct resident care and oversight of LPNs/CNAs in a faith-based senior living environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Current RN license in the State of Illinois.
• One year nursing experience.
• Devotion to standards and principles of professional nursing.
• Skill in assessing problems, planning and evaluating solutions.
• Understanding, patience and tact in dealing with people.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal, English).
• Genuine compassion for senior adults and the disabled.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine daily direction and monitor the work of LPNs and nursing assistants on the unit.
• Assist in orientation of new nursing personnel and reinforce training standards.
• Assist in motivating LPNs and CNAs assigned to the nursing unit.
• Provide explanation of nursing procedures and assistance to staff to assure ongoing understanding.
• Communicate with the Director of Nursing regarding assessments and concerns.
• Observe and evaluate residents’ health and communicate changes to staff and family.
