Tufts Medicine’s Lowell General Hospital is recruiting for a Per Diem RN in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This telemetry/step-down unit offers close patient monitoring, a lower nurse-patient ratio, and opportunities for advancement alongside a comprehensive benefits package and sign-on incentives for experienced RNs.

Qualified candidates hold MA RN licensure with current good standing, ASN (BSN preferred), and BLS required (ACLS preferred).

Job Summary:

Unit Summary:

The PCU is a 36‑bed unit for telemetry, step‑down, or intermediate level of care. Patients requiring peritoneal and hemodialysis, cardiac catheterizations, pacemakers, internal cardiac defibrillator placement, postoperative monitoring, and interventional radiology may be placed in the PCU. Our patients receive continuous cardiac monitoring, and some may also receive continuous oxygen saturation monitoring. Patients can be on high‑flow oxygen, Bi‑pap ventilation, and continuous cardiac Intravenous medications. The nurse‑patient ratio is less than on the med/surg floors, allowing patients to be more closely monitored.
