Job summary

Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA is seeking an RN to provide direct nursing care in the ICU-ground/main campus. The role involves weekend track hours, 36 hours per week, with daytime shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Minimum qualifications include MA RN licensure, 12 months to under 3 years of RN experience, and BLS certification. BSN strongly preferred and associates degree candidates are encouraged to enroll in BSN within a year.

Job Overview

The RN independently provides direct nursing care to patients and their families in accordance with established policies, procedures, and practices.

Location: ICU-Ground, Main Campus

Hours: 36 Hours, Full Time (Weekend Track)

Shift: Days 7:00AM-7:00PM

The Community RN Career Direct Care Pathway placement is comprised of four levels based on a RN's minimum experience, education, and qualifications.

Level I - 0 - Less than 12 Months of RN Experience.

Level II - 12 Months - Less than 3 Years of RN Experience.

Level III - 3 Years - Less than 8 Years of RN Experience.

Level IV - 8 Years of RN Experience.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

1. Massachusetts RN Licensure.

2. 12 Months - Less than 3 Years of RN Experience.

3. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

4. Department Specific: Certification(s) relevant to the department and the type of patient care being provided may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Required Qualifications

Current RN licensure in the state of MA in good standing is required

BSN is strongly preferred

Candidates with an Associate's degree in nursing may be considered, and are encouraged to enroll in a BSN program within 1 year of hire

Physical Requirements

1. Occasional lifting of 30-35 lbs and turning patients.

2. Prolonged standing and walking.

3. Occasional twisting, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, sitting, kneeling, and squatting.

4. Exposure to infectious disease and possible carcinogenic chemicals.

5. Exposure of blood-borne pathogens.

6. Requires fine manual dexterity to lift and maneuver patients.

7. Requires visual and aural acuity necessary to monitor patient care.

Skills & Abilities

1. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team.

2. Knowledge of and application of the nursing process.
