Job summary

The HOPE Center, operated by Universal Health Services, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its 16-bed Psychiatric Health Facility team. The RN will coordinate and evaluate care, document nursing activities, and participate in treatment planning within a per diem schedule.

California RN licensure and CPR are required, with Handle with Care training to be completed within 30 days. Minimum one year in psychiatric health care is expected; three years is preferred.

Qualifications

• A Registered Nurse with a California license in good standing.
• Education must include an accredited nursing program.
• CPR certification and HWC training are required/expected within stated timelines.

Responsibilities

• Document patient information and nursing care in the provision of nursing services.
• Employ communication, interviewing, and crisis intervention during psychotherapeutic interventions.
• Participate in development of interdisciplinary treatment plans with measurable goals.

The Heritage Oaks Patient Enrichment Center, more commonly known as the ‘HOPE Center,’ is a newly constructed, state of the art, 16-bed, Psychiatric Health Facility, serving the acute psychiatric needs of the community in concert with the Sacramento County Department of Health and Human Services.

The HOPE Center is looking for a Registered Nurse to join the team! The Registered Nurse is a professional who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and best practices.

• Document patient information and nursing care in the provision of nursing services.
• Employ principles of communication, interviewing techniques, and problem solving and crisis intervention when performing psychotherapeutic interventions.
• Participate in the development of an interdisciplinary treatment plan with specific and measurable goals, objectives and interventions defining actions unique to each patient's needs.

Schedule: Per Diem

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required; Associate degree Required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of one (1) year experience working in a psychiatric health capacity. Preferred three (3) years working in a psychiatric health care facility.

Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the California Board of Registered Nursing.

Additional Requirements: CPR certification and successful completion of Handle with Care (HWC) training (provided in-house), including appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint, within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in a restraining process. Must demonstrate medication administration skills and complete nursing competencies skills checklist.
