Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Registered Dietitian to provide nutritional care for patients on a per diem basis in New York. You will plan, assess, implement, and evaluate individualized nutrition plans and support menu modifications as part of the clinical team.

You will conduct nutrition assessments, educate patients and families, and collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure accurate diet orders, therapeutic diet modifications, and quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in nutrition/related field.
• Current Registered Dietitian Certification required.
• CDN in NYS as needed.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and train team members.
• Perform clinical nutrition tasks and problems of minimal complexity.
• Interview patients for nutritional history and assess food preferences.
• Develop and implement patient-specific nutrition care plans and collaborate with medical staff.
• Provide nutrition education to patients and families and ensure diet orders are accurate.
• Contribute to menu development and oversee food service staff on handling and portion control.
• Support clinical operations and QA/PI activities.
• Deliver individual and group education and refer clients to community services.
