Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a per diem Registered Dietitian to provide expert nutrition care across clinical teams in a hospital setting. You will conduct nutrition assessments, develop patient-specific care plans, and coordinate with physicians to optimize dietary interventions.

Responsibilities include patient interviews, education for patients and families, and contributing to menu planning and nutrition education programs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent.
• CDR RD certification required.
• CDN in NYS as needed.
• Advanced/specialized certifications as needed.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Acute care experience preferred.
• Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and train team members.
• Perform varied clinical tasks of minimal complexity.
• Interview patients for nutritional history and document.
• Conduct nutrition assessment and develop care plans.
• Recommend diet modifications to physicians.
• Provide nutrition education to patients and families.
• Contribute to changes to patient menus and supervise food service staff.
• Support clinical operations and daily activities.
• Prepare and conduct individual and group nutrition education sessions.
• Develop effective nutrition information communication within the program.
• Provide in-services on therapeutic diets to teams.
• Participate in QA/PI data collection and related tasks.
