Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a per diem Radiography Technologist Extern in Hollywood, Florida. Under supervision of a certified radiography technologist, you will perform basic imaging procedures within approved scope and standards of practice.

You will greet patients, verify prescriptions and schedules, assist with equipment prep, position patients, and transport them as needed. The role emphasizes patient safety, quality care, and teamwork in a busy imaging department.

Qualifications

• Requires critical thinking, effective communication, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited radiography technologist program with document submission/verification.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, verifies prescriptions, providers and schedules patients; communicates with departments to facilitate efficient care.
• Assists in preparing equipment and supplies.
• Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, bed or neuro chair to designated sites as requested.
• Assists in reviewing history and physician's orders.
• Informs patient regarding procedures and exams.
• Assists in patient positioning.
