Job summary

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Physical Therapy is seeking per diem Physical Therapy Assistants to work in Miami, FL. The PTA assists with rehabilitation activities, leads exercise instruction, and participates in patient evaluation and testing to help restore function and mobility.

Requirements include an Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting and an active Florida PTA license, with at least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or equivalent required.
• Active Florida PTA license required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluation of new patients and setting goals and treatment plans.
• Document evaluations, treatments and all patient interactions.
• Provide patient and family education and home activity instructions.
• Communicate with physicians for information and treatment revisions.
• Use treatment tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain productivity and flexibility to meet clinic needs.
• Participate in quality and safety initiatives and protect patient confidentiality.
