Job summary

Centurion Health seeks a per-diem Psychiatric Technician at Idaho Maximum Security Institution in Kuna, ID. You will lead daily activities for patients on the Acute Mental Health Unit, focusing on hygiene, social skills, and recreation, while modeling positive behaviors and supporting treatment goals.

The role includes documenting changes, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team, and assisting with group therapies and psychoeducational sessions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in the social sciences i.e. psychology, social work, or counseling or related field preferred
• Experience working in a correctional mental health setting preferred
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities with patients including proper hygiene, social skills, and recreational activities within the Acute Mental Health Unit
• Monitor, model, and teach effective behaviors to improve patients’ lives
• Document and inform staff of significant changes in patient functioning
• Assist facilitating group therapeutic sessions and psychoeducational groups
