Job summary

Health Care Administrators Association (HCAA) is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct care in a hospital environment for adult and pediatric patients across units. The role includes clinical leadership, policy adherence, and active mentoring of staff to uphold a positive work environment and high-quality patient care.

The position requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, a NM RN license (or reciprocal), CPR/BLS and ACLS certifications, and the ability to perform heavy work

Qualifications

  • Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
  • Current RN licensure in NM or reciprocal jurisdiction.
  • CPR/BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy work and respond to emergencies.
  • Bilingual skills advantageous; experience with diverse patient populations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in a hospital setting.
  • Follow policies to ensure patient safety and report hazards.
  • Administer medications, including IVs, and document findings.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team on individualized care plans and discharge planning.
  • Assist with tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent and preparation.
  • Respond to emergencies and implement measures as needed.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and respond to patient inquiries.
  • Participate in orientation and training, mentoring new staff as appropriate.
  • Identify and report safety concerns, medical errors, and near misses.
  • Encourage patient participation through education and communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure patient safety by following policies, reporting hazards, and promoting a safe environment
  • Implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, including discharge planning and patient education
  • Administer medications, including IVs, adhering to the Seven Rights, and document findings
  • Assist with tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent and preparation
  • Respond to emergencies and institute measures as needed
  • Maintain accurate medical records and handle patient inquiries
  • Participate in orientation and training, mentoring new staff as appropriate
  • Identify and report safety concerns, medical errors, and near misses
  • Encourage patient participation in their care through communication and education
