Job summary

Millennium Surgical Center in Cherry Hill, NJ is seeking a per diem PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse to support our ambulatory surgery team. The role provides continuity and high quality care before and after anesthesia, focusing on patient safety, comfort and privacy.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation, sterile technique, and post-anesthesia assessment and discharge planning; candidates should be certified in BLS/ACLS, hold an RN license, and

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients with continual evaluation of the patient’s condition, ensuring safety, comfort and privacy.
• May assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile technique as deemed appropriate.
• Provide post-anesthesia care and prepare patients for discharge after general anesthesia and/or sedation.
