Job summary

MedMark Treatment Centers in Springdale, AR is seeking a per diem Program Physician or Psychiatrist to provide medically supervised addiction treatment, including methadone and buprenorphine dosing, in a outpatient clinic.

The role includes admitting patients, taking histories and exams, documenting in the EMR, dosing decisions, and coordinating with the treatment team. The incumbent may supervise PAs/NPs and cover the Medical Director as needed.

Qualifications

• Board certification or eligibility in addiction medicine.
• Licensed to practice in AR.
• Minimum 1 year of addiction medicine experience.
• Ability to interact compassionately with a diverse population.
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Admitting Patients for Methadone and Buprenorphine Treatment.
• Cover absences for Medical Director during vacations and absences.
• Obtain patient history and perform physical examination.
• Document in EMR and enter methadone dosing orders or write buprenorphine prescriptions.
• Monitor patient dosages in conjunction with Director, Counselors and Dosing Nurses.
• Consult on high-risk patients and perform annual medication reviews.
• Willing to supervise Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor.

Primary Job Function:

• Admitting Patients for Methadone and Buprenorphine Treatment.
• Applicant must be able to cover absences for the Medical Director during vacations, attendance at addiction meetings, and personal absences.
• Physician will obtain a history and physical exam.
• Documentation into the EMR, entering orders for methadone dosing in the EMR or writing a buprenorphine prescription.
• Consistently monitoring patient dosages in conjunction with the Treatment Center Director, Counselors and Dosing Nurses.
• Consulting on patients that are high risk and doing annual medication reviews.
• Willing to supervise Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications | Education | Certifications:

• Boarded Certified or Eligible in any residency
• Must be licensed in the state of AR
• 1-year of experience in addiction medicine
• Must be able to interact compassionately with a diverse population
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check
