Job summary

BAART Treatment Centers are seeking a Per Diem MAT Physician to join our outpatient teams in California. The role involves admitting patients for methadone and buprenorphine, taking histories and performing physicals, and documenting in the EMR.

You will issue methadone dosing orders and buprenorphine prescriptions, with dosing monitored alongside the Treatment Center Director and nurses. Candidates should be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Addiction Medicine, have CA licensure, and pass

Qualifications

• Board certified or board eligible in addiction medicine.
• Minimum 6 months of addiction medicine experience.
• Licensed to practice medicine in California.
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Admitting patients for methadone and buprenorphine.
• Obtain history and perform physical exam.
• Document in the EMR and enter methadone dosing orders; buprenorphine prescriptions.
• Monitor patient dosages with treatment team.
• Consult on high-risk patients and conduct annual medication reviews.
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor.

Primary Job Function:

• Admitting Patients for Methadone and Buprenorphine
• Physician will obtain a history and physical exam
• Documentation into the EMR, entering orders for methadone dosing in the EMR or writing a buprenorphine prescription (soon this will be electronic, but we currently have a waiver to use written scripts while we are moving to a new EMR)
• Consistently monitoring patient dosages in conjunction with the Treatment Center Director, Counselors and Dosing Nurses
• Consulting on patients that are high risk and doing annual medication reviews
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications | Education | Certifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Addiction Medicine preferred
• 6-months of addiction medicine experience required
• Must be licensed in the State of CA
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check

Salary ranges from $120 to $140 an hour.

The salary of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialtyand training.
