Job summary

Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, CA is seeking a Per diem Physical Therapist to join our hospital-based team.

The role involves 10-hour day shifts and supports patient care across acute care settings. The candidate will evaluate, plan and administer medically prescribed physical therapy programs, with responsibilities including directing care, orienting staff and contributing to performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of the American Physical Therapy Association training program.
• California Physical Therapist License is required upon hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, direct and administer physical therapy programs in the hospital to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury.
• Assist patient to reach his/her maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of his/her capabilities.
• The staff Physical Therapist also assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of those patients being treated by Physical Therapy Assistants and may be assigned to orient staff and students and to assume the duties and responsibilities of the supervisor in the absence of that individual.
• Performs administrative duties and participates in department Performance Improvement, Infection Control, Safety and Education programs.
