Job summary

Rochester Regional Health's Phlebotomy Services team is seeking a Phlebotomist at Clifton Springs Hospital & Geneva Destination Campus. The successful candidate will perform venipuncture and capillary draws to obtain sufficient blood for laboratory testing, while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include preparing specimens, labeling and transporting, confirming patient identity, and maintaining safety compliance; travel to affiliated centers may be required.

Qualifications

• ASCP PBT certification preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification meets required standards.
• Experience in hospital phlebotomy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens via venipuncture and skin puncture according to orders and procedures.
• Ensure the patient is informed, comfortable and safe during the procedure.
• Identify patient, communicate procedures, and perform phlebotomy duties.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and proper equipment use.
• Label, transport and prepare specimens for processing and testing.
• Greet patients, answer calls and provide directions as needed.
• Schedule or pre-schedule patient appointments when applicable.
• Verify insurance eligibility/coverage when required and obtain necessary authorizations.
