Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience in a hospital laboratory setting.
• Excellent customer service and phlebotomy skills.
• Ability to follow directions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens from patients of all ages using venipuncture or capillary techniques.
• Verify patient identity using two identifiers before collection.
• Label specimens at bedside and ensure proper specimen labeling.
• Prepare, label, and deliver specimens to laboratory departments within required timeframes.
• Enter collection data into EMR and review electronic orders.
• Provide compassionate, professional patient care and communicate procedures clearly.
• Follow infection control, HIPAA, OSHA, and PPE protocols.
• Restock collection trays and notify supervisors of equipment or inventory needs.
• Coordinate with nursing staff and physicians for timely specimen collection.
• Respond to STAT, timed, and critical collection requests.
