Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital opportunities across Hampton Roads. Choose shifts that fit your schedule, with day or night options and flexible per diem assignments.

Requirements include an active Virginia RN license, 2 years PCU experience in the past 4 years, and current BLS/ACLS certifications. QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within 12 months and COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption are also required.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.
• Additional credentials may be required based on the hospital assignment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment required for PCU patients.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs.
