Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts across Hampton Roads, Virginia. Choose your own schedule with 7a-7p or 7p-7a shifts, and pick up as few as one shift per month or build a fuller roster.

You will assess and monitor patients, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians in acute-care settings while keeping accurate medical records.

Qualifications

• Virginia RN license with PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
• Current AHA BLS
• Current AHA ACLS
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments
