Job summary

First Choice Nurses is seeking experienced PCU RNs for per diem hospital shifts in Virginia. Shifts are 7a-7p and 7p-7a, with you choosing when to work and the option to pick up as little as one shift per month.

You will provide high-quality care in acute-care settings, monitor patients and cardiac rhythms, administer medications, and maintain EMRs. Virginia RN license, BLS and ACLS are required, with vaccination or approved exemption; additional facility credentials may be needed.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience in the past 4 years.
• Current CPR/AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
• QuantiFERON-TB test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.
• Additional facility credentials may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and status changes.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records.
• Follow infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educate patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapt professionally to different hospital units and environments.
