Atlantic Health Newton Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem Patient Transporter in Newton, New Jersey. Hours vary, including every other weekend. Starting rate is $20.52/hr with eligibility for Atlantic Health System #teenhiring initiative.

The role requires transporting and assisting patients, gathering and delivering items, and supporting admissions and discharge processes as needed within the hospital.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to work well under time constraints.
• Exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat and stands for long periods, lifts/pushes/pulls up to 50 lbs.
• Must be 16 or older (NJ working papers).
• If 16 or 17, valid working papers required.

Responsibilities

• Ascertains patient name, destination, mode of travel, time, and other data.
• Guides or escorts incoming patients from admitting office or reception desk to designated area.
• Carries patient's luggage.
• Assists patient in walking to prevent accidents, or transports non-ambulatory patient by wheelchair.
• Transports patient, alone or with assistance, to designated areas within the facility.
• Delivers messages, mail, medical records, and other items.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
