Job summary

WAR Memorial Hospital Extended Care Facility seeks a Driver responsible for safely transporting residents to medical appointments and supporting daily needs. You will map routes, communicate appointment changes, and address transportation delays while keeping the van clean and maintained.

You will escort fall risks and integrate with the DON/Designee and the care team. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification within six months, and a valid driver's license with a DOT

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
BLS certification required within six months of hire.
Must hold a valid driver’s license and DOT medical examiner’s certificate.
Periodic drug screenings as defined by VH policies.

Responsibilities

Transport residents to appointments, ensuring safety and security.
Map routes, communicate changes, and resolve transport issues.
Ensure van cleanliness and perform regular maintenance coordination.
Support patient needs, escort fall risks, and work with the interdisciplinary team.
