Job summary

Jefferson Health seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of licensed clinicians. The role supports interprofessional teams, collaborates across departments, and may facilitate telehealth encounters between patients and providers.

The candidate will assist with rounds, safety, and supply management, while ensuring high-quality care and timely responses to patient needs in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and its role in patient care.
• Ability to work with an interprofessional team.
• Strong communication with patients, families and care partners.
• Knowledge of personal care and hygiene for quality of life.
• Awareness of patient safety risks and mitigation steps.
• BLS certification or training upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under supervision of licensed clinicians.
• Maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Assists in maintaining supplies and equipment for unit operations.
• Conducts patient rounds, anticipates needs, responds to call lights promptly.
• May work as a virtual safety associate as needed.
