Job summary

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Patient Care Technician I - Per Diem for the IMCU at Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains, NJ. You will assist patients with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and support EKGs and phlebotomy procedures.

A strong team approach and competency with medical data systems are essential. The role requires a HS Diploma or GED, with preferred BLS within 3 months and prior acute care experience.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• BLS within 3 months of hire preferred.
• Prior acute care experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, verbal and written.
• Team player with physicians and nurses.
• Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, feeding, dressing).
• Obtains and records vital signs, weights, and heights.
• Assists with mobility: ambulation, transfers, and ROM.
• Performs postmortem care.
• Performs EKGs, phlebotomy, and glucose monitoring.
• Observes and reports changes to the RN.
• Maintains phlebotomy equipment and inventory.
• Other related duties as assigned.
