Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem is seeking a Patient Access Rep III for per diem shifts at Linden Oaks Hospital in Naperville. Most shifts run 4:00 PM–11:00 PM, with some 12:00 PM–6:00 PM hours; ~10–20 hours weekly, no weekends but some holidays may be required.

You will register patients, verify insurance coverage, and assist with precertification and admissions paperwork, while coordinating with clinical and billing teams to ensure smooth and timely entry into treatment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in a mental health field.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with licensed clinicians to facilitate patient transfers and completes admission paperwork.
• Performs patient registration and reviews forms to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Contacts insurance companies to verify eligibility and coverage for inpatient and outpatient services.
• Provides financial counseling and discusses payment options with patients and families.
• Assists intake team with precertification processes and medical necessity reviews when needed.
