Job summary

Ro Health is hiring Substitute Paraprofessionals and Behavior Technicians (BTs) to support students for the 2026–2027 school year and beyond in Massachusetts. The roles offer meaningful, student-centered work with the flexibility of a trusted staffing partner and opportunities for professional growth.

You'll provide direct support, implement behavior interventions, collaborate with educators, and collect data to track progress while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Experience in ABA or supporting individuals with developmental needs (preferred).
• Ability to pass state and federal background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, individualized support to students with disabilities, focusing on behavioral, social-emotional, academic, and educational development.
• Implement individualized behavior interventions, BIPs, and strategies outlined in IEPs and support plans.
• Support students in achieving goals related to behavior regulation, communication, social skills, academic engagement, and independence.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support during classroom instruction and routines.
• Use positive reinforcement, prompting, modeling, and evidence-based strategies to encourage skill development and reduce challenging behaviors.
• Collect and accurately document data related to student behavior, skill acquisition, and progress.
• Promote student independence and self-advocacy with appropriate support.
• Assist with proactive behavior management, de-escalation, and crisis prevention per plans and protocols.
• Support communication, social, adaptive, and daily living skills as appropriate.
• Collaborate with teachers, BCBAs, special education staff, and related providers to ensure consistency.
• Communicate professionally with school staff, families, clinical teams, and supervisors while maintaining confidentiality.
• Participate in team meetings, training, supervision, and professional development.

Pay :$24–$27 per hour (based on assignment and experience)

What You’ll Do:

• Provide direct, individualized support to students with disabilities, focusing on behavioral, social-emotional, academic, and educational development.
• Implement individualized behavior interventions, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and strategies outlined in students’ IEPs and support plans, as directed by the supervising team.
• Support students in achieving goals related to behavior regulation, communication, social skills, academic engagement, and independence.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support during classroom instruction, learning activities, transitions, peer interactions, and daily routines.
• Use positive reinforcement, prompting, modeling, and other evidence-based strategies to encourage skill development and reduce challenging behaviors.
• Collect and accurately document data related to student behavior, skill acquisition, progress, and responses to interventions.
• Promote student independence and self-advocacy while providing appropriate support based on each student’s individual needs.
• Assist with proactive behavior management, de-escalation, and crisis prevention strategies in accordance with student plans and school protocols.
• Support students with communication, social, adaptive, and daily living skills as appropriate.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, BCBAs, special education staff, and related service providers to ensure consistency and effectiveness of student supports.
• Communicate professionally with school staff, families, clinical teams, and agency supervisors while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.
• Participate in team meetings, training, supervision, and professional development opportunities to support student progress and continued growth.
