Job Summary
  • -Prepare patients for pacemaker implantation by explaining the procedure and answering any questions they may have.
  • -Assist the physician during the pacemaker implantation procedure.
  • -Program the pacemaker and adjusting its settings as needed.
  • -Monitor patients after pacemaker implantation to ensure that the device is functioning properly and that the patient is not experiencing any complications.
  • -Educate patients on the proper care and maintenance of their pacemakers.
  • -Troubleshoot and repair pacemakers as needed.
  • -Maintain accurate and detailed records of each patient's pacemaker implantation and management.
Qualifications

Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support [ACLS (AHA)] - American Heart Association (AHA) preferred Basic Life Support [BLS Certification]

Experience Completion of a Pacemaker Technician training program or equivalent work experience. 1-2 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • - Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the heart and cardiovascular system.
  • - Knowledge of pacemaker equipment and procedures.
  • - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • - Knowledge of medical terminology and computer systems used for medical record keeping.
  • - Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
