Job summary

Brookville Center for Children's Services seeks an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and provide OT services to children in home/community settings. You will participate in planning meetings, communicate with families and professional staff, and implement therapeutic activities addressing motor skills and sensory development.

Requirements include a degree in OT, NY licensure, and a year of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• NYS Licensure and Registration as an Occupational Therapist.
• Minimum of one year of related work experience with preschool and school-age populations preferred.
• Physical capacity may include lifting and transferring of a child.

Responsibilities

• Assess students’ needs through a variety of formal and informal measures.
• Analyze assessment results to form appropriate diagnoses and generate objective goals for students’ IEP/IFSPs.
• Develop and implement therapeutic activities and strategies for motor control and developmental skills.
• Address the behavioral needs of students through the use of positive behavior supports and adherence to behavioral support plans.
• Inform team members of students’ progress and provide activities for classroom/home use.
• Participate in conferences and meetings as assigned, including CPSE/CSE/IFSP.
• Maintain professional standards in interactions with families and ongoing communication with parents/guardians.
