Job summary

Hartford HealthCare in New Britain, CT is seeking a per diem Occupational Therapist to evaluate patients, determine treatment goals, and implement plans within clinic hours. The OT will also delegate care, provide education, and document progress to support patient independence in daily living and productivity.

The role includes supervision of OT students and Rehab Aides, collaboration with care teams, and alignment with patient/caregiver goals across diverse clinical settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy from ACOTE-accredited program.
• CT OT license; NBCOT certification.
• New graduates considered.

Responsibilities

• Performs thorough evaluation of patient’s function including upper extremity strength, motor control, balance, and daily living skills.
• Sets measurable goals with patient/family based on care protocols.
• Delivers and delegates care using interventions to maximize daily living, leisure, and work activities.
• Provides patient and caregiver education on treatment, precautions and equipment use.
• Completes documentation including evaluation, care plan and discharge planning.
• Participates in patient transition and discharge planning with care team.
