Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network in central New York is seeking a BC/BE Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to provide Per Diem support in Cooperstown, NY. The role offers an urgent and emergent surgery room with access to OR time for cold trauma and elective trauma reconstruction.

The position requires MD/DO/MBBS with NY license (or eligibility), BLS certification, and board eligibility or certification. Fellowship training is encouraged but not required, with a strong, centralized ER support system.

Qualifications

• Fellowship training encouraged but not required.
• Access to an OR for urgent and "cold trauma" cases in a dedicated room for emergent surgery.
• Time allotted for elective trauma reconstructive practice.
• Separate on-call schedules for Spine and Hand.
• ER coverage provided by the practice group with a full support staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide per diem orthopedic trauma services in Cooperstown, NY.
• Participate in urgent and elective trauma cases as scheduled.
• Collaborate with Surgical Residents and Medical Students as part of a teaching environment.
