Job summary

Callista Surgery Center in Walnut Creek, CA seeks an experienced Per Diem OR Circulator Registered Nurse to support our surgical team. This role is per diem with scheduling based on surgical volume and facility needs.

The RN Circulator coordinates and provides nursing care during the intraoperative phase, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, Surgical Technologists, and the perioperative team to ensure safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
• Current California RN license required.
• Previous OR circulating experience required.
• Ambulatory surgery center experience preferred.
• Plastic surgery experience preferred.
• Knowledge of perioperative nursing, infection prevention, and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform circulating nurse responsibilities during surgical procedures.
• Review the schedule and ensure the OR is prepared for cases.
• Verify patient identity, procedure, site, consent, allergies, and documentation.
• Complete preoperative nursing assessments.
• Participate in time-outs and patient-safety procedures.
• Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and safety in the intraoperative period.
• Coordinate patient positioning and aseptic technique.
• Collaborate with team to track counts and medications.
