Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmology services in La Jolla. The role involves patient history collection, diagnostic vision testing, and assisting physicians with patient care and scheduling.

Under supervision, you will help with eye examinations, maintain exam rooms, and ensure sterile, orderly operations. Per diem 20% appointment, 8 hours/day, Monday–Friday in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to take patient history, evaluate problems, and document accurately.
• Perform tonometry, visual acuity, refractive error, color vision, and related tests.
• Develop and implement effective patient scheduling and document flow.
• Sterilize and maintain ophthalmic equipment and supplies.
