Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a per diem role in Riverhead. Provides safe, therapeutic OT to help patients restore or improve daily living activities and cognitive/behavioral function, with a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities include evaluating patients, planning and implementing interventions, collaborating with the healthcare team, documenting progress, and guiding home exercise programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from ACOTE-accredited NYS OT program.
• Current and valid NYS Occupational Therapy license and registration.
• Basic Life Support Certification.
• 1-2 years hospital inpatient/outpatient or pediatric rehabilitation setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, therapeutic, age-appropriate occupational therapy to restore or improve functional abilities.
• Plan delivery of care through examination, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Educate patient and family regarding functional status and home safety; provide home exercise program.
