The Resource Physician is responsible for enhancing the safety of patients, providing excellent clinical care, and actively participating in the ongoing education of learners in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Responsibilities include arriving on time for shifts, arranging continuous coverage if delayed, signing out with the next RP, providing contact information, recording start and end times for payroll, remaining physically on-site during shifts within Evanston Hospital, serving as team leader and resource for Labor and Delivery staff, scheduling major procedures outside of OB Coverage shifts, arranging substitute physician coverage, supervising clinical care for NorthShore Community Health Center patients including obstetric and gynecologic patients, evaluating and documenting patients timely in Epic chart, providing urgent or attending coverage as needed, assisting the multi-disciplinary team, reviewing and signing off on all electronic fetal monitoring records, completing billing documentation for all billable services, functioning as a member of OB Hemorrhage/Rapid Response Team, participating in team briefings and debriefings, and teaching activities including resident sign-out, inpatient rounds, and participation in educational conferences.
