Job summary

St. Joseph's Health in Paterson, NJ, is seeking a Per Diem Patient Care Associate for the Nursery and Obstetrics Department. This on-site role supports patients with daily living activities and basic bedside care under supervision.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, maintaining a safe, clean environment, and performing EKGs and venipuncture as directed by the Registered Nurse. BLS certification within 6 months is required; advanced life support trainings are noted in policy.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• PCA/PCT diploma or Nursing Fundamentals coursework as alternative.
• Evidence of Nursing Assistant training or CMA/Home Health Aide experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic care to acutely ill patients.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Perform EKGs and venipuncture as directed by the RN.
