Job summary

Planned Parenthood of the Nebraska region in Omaha, NE seeks a Clinician to provide reproductive and sexual health care under supervision. The role encompasses clinical services for patients at designated health centers with emphasis on mission-driven care and patient advocacy.

Qualifications

• Current active, unencumbered state RN and APN licenses; ability to obtain additional state license(s) upon hire.
• Current national board-certification as Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant.
• DEA license or ability to obtain at hire; enrollment in Controlled Substance Monitoring Program as applicable in state you are applying for the role.
• Advanced degree, minimally Master’s Degree.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification for healthcare providers

Responsibilities

• Obtains pertinent patient history and performs a physical exam as indicated by the visit type.
• Recognizes and addresses deviations from normal.
• Performs, orders, and interprets screening and diagnostic testing; addresses abnormal findings.
• Develops plan, which may include treatment, referrals, and/or prescribing medications.
• Provides patient instruction regarding plan of care and preventive education.
• Collaborates with the health care team and other community agencies as indicated.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Prescribes all FDA approved birth control methods and follows up on medication or surgical abortion.
