Job summary

The University of Miami Hospital and Clinics is seeking a Per Diem Certified Nursing Assistant to join the Nursing 6 North Neurology UTower1 team. Shifts are 12 hours and nights/weekends, depending on availability, with part-time, temporary-intermittent status.

The CNA will assist with hygiene, meals, mobility, vital signs, and reporting changes to the nurse, while maintaining safety and confidentiality in a high‑quality academic medical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience.
• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal hygiene for patients (bedpans, baths, shaves).
• Assist with meals, mobility, and nourishment between meals.
• Administer non-sterile dressings and basic care tasks.
• Perform urine testing and specimen collection.
• Answer call lights promptly and maintain a safe environment.
• Report patient conditions to the assigned nurse and monitor intake/output.
• Transport patients and equipment as needed; protect assets.
• Provide post‑mortem care as applicable.
