Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Critical Care unit at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT.

This per diem night shift role focuses on neuro-critical care, heart and vascular, and surgical oncology, with direct nursing care and interdisciplinary collaboration. Ideal candidates have an Associate degree in Nursing, 2 years of Med-Surg/CCU experience, and an active CT RN license with BLS.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate degree in Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Two years of Medical-Surgical or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to assess patients' needs.
• Delegate aspects of care to other nursing personnel.
• Participate in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds.
• Develop, implement, and revise individualized plans of care.
• Participate in activities for professional growth and development outside of patient care.
