Job summary

NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital is seeking a Per Diem MSW Social Worker to support psychosocial assessment and discharge planning for patients in New York, NY. The role operates under the supervision of a Social Work Supervisor or Director and includes clinical supervision of social work interns.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in social work; LMSW licensure or NYS permit.
• Must complete coursework in identification and reporting of child abuse (Education Law §6507(3)(a)).
• Preferred: hospital or health-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs psychosocial assessments and discharge planning.
• Provides counseling and develops treatment plans.
• Documents all social work activities in HIS/outpatient records.
• Coordinates with the interdisciplinary team and discharge planning unit.
• Participates in rounds, meetings, and committees.
• Maintains reliability and adheres to departmental guidelines.
