Responsibilities

• Safely operate the University's 40-foot Mobile Health & Wellness Unit.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Transport faculty, staff, students, and program materials to outreach locations.
• Coordinate travel schedules with program administrators and faculty.
• Operate ADA accessibility equipment, including wheelchair liftsystems.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness.
• Complete required inspection reports, mileage logs, and operational documentation.
• Report accidents, incidents, maintenance issues, and safety concerns.
• Ensure compliance with University policies and motor vehicle regulations.
• Represent Salve Regina University professionally at community events and partner locations.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Salve Regina University seeks qualified individuals to serve as PerDiem Mobile Health & Wellness Unit Drivers. This position isresponsible for the safe operation and transportation of theUniversity's custom-designed, 40-foot ADA-compliant Mobile Health& Wellness Unit, which supports health education, wellnessprogramming, and community outreach initiatives throughout RhodeIsland.

The position provides critical operational support by ensuring theMobile Health & Wellness Unit remains available for faculty,staff, and students engaged in outreach activities. Theestablishment of a pool of trained per diem drivers reducesreliance on existing Public Safety personnel and ensures continuityof operations as transportation and community engagement programscontinue to expand.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safely operate the University's 40-foot Mobile Health &Wellness Unit.


• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.


• Transport faculty, staff, students, and program materials tooutreach locations.


• Position the vehicle safely and assist with site setup.


• Operate ADA accessibility equipment, including wheelchair liftsystems.


• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, safety, and operationalreadiness.


• Complete required inspection reports, mileage logs, andoperational documentation.


• Report accidents, incidents, maintenance issues, and safetyconcerns.


• Coordinate travel schedules with program administrators andfaculty.


• Ensure compliance with University policies and motor vehicleregulations.


• Represent Salve Regina University professionally at communityevents and partner locations.


• Perform other related duties as assigned.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is classified as an \"essential position\". Employeeswho occupy an essential position (\"essential personnel\"), may be required to be on campus during emergencies, when work and/orclasses have been cancelled. Exceptions may apply and will be determined by the department/office supervisor on a case-by-casebasis.

Requirements:

Required:

• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.


• Ability to meet University driver qualification and insurance requirements.


• Ability to safely operate large vehicles.

Physical Requirements

• Sit for extended periods while operating a vehicle.


• Enter and exit the vehicle multiple times during a shift.


• Bend, reach, push, pull, and occasionally lift up to 50pounds.

Preferred :

• CDL with Passenger Endorsement.


• Experience operating buses, motorcoaches, commercial vehicles, large RVs, or specialty vehicles.


• Experience supporting educational, healthcare, or communityoutreach programs.


• CPR and First Aid certification.


• Assist with loading and unloading equipment and supplies.
