Job summary

Family Service League seeks a per diem Peer Specialist for crisis services in Hauppauge, supporting a 24/7 crisis stabilization center, DASH hub, and mobile crisis teams. You will use lived experience to engage children and adults, link to resources, and participate in assessments in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting.

Applicants need NYCPS or CRPS certification (or acquire within 6 months). Evening/weekend hours are required, and strong communication, independence, and EHR proficiency

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• NYCPS or CRPS certification required; must obtain within six months if not held.
• Relevant life experience and ability to engage individuals and serve as a role model.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; meet deadlines.
• Proficient computer skills; experience with EHR and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide outreach to clients and families in the field, by phone and in person.
• Facilitate engagement in services and link to community resources.
• Participate in Crisis Assessments and linkages as part of multidisciplinary team.
• Provide recovery readiness support and Narcan education.
• Document thoroughly in the Electronic Health Record.
