Job summary

AdventHealth in Port Orange, Florida is seeking a Per Diem Medical Laboratory Scientist for pre- and post-analytical lab duties. You will perform specimen processing, testing, and reporting, while supporting education and quality improvement initiatives.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science, 2+ years of AdventHealth experience, and 5+ years of technical lab experience. Opportunities include professional development and a commitment to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• 2+ years AdventHealth experience
• 5+ years of technical experience
• Bachelor's degree required in medical laboratory science
• MLS/ASCP certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-analytical activities including equipment maintenance, function checks, inventory control, supply stocking, specimen collection, processing, cleaning, and disinfection of lab equipment and spaces.
• Conduct post-analytical activities related to laboratory testing, including reporting results and providing technical support for all age groups.
• Complete tests and analytical procedures per established SOPs.
• Participate in proficiency testing and adhere to regulations and policies.
• May act as a preceptor and train new employees; provide guidance to staff and education to clinical teams.
