Qualifications

• Must be able to perform vein and/or capillary punctures.
• Must read and understand laboratory instruction manuals.
• Ability to address needs of neonates to geriatrics and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens from patients in accordance with policy.
• Conduct tests and report results within department standards.
• Observe and document test results; retest when needed.
• Ensure supplies are available to complete anticipated workloads.
• Follow safety and infection control policies.
• Maintain instrument maintenance and quality control as required.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and teamwork.
• Adhere to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
