Per Diem Certified Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy Experience

Job Location: Boston, MA
Job Type: Per Diem, 1099 contract
Pay Rate: CMA, Phlebotomists, Paramedics $35/hr
Schedule: 10/7 and 10/8 (7am-5:30pm)

Full Description

VitalCheck Wellness is seeking a committed and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant with experience in phlebotomy to assist patients in making referral appointments and performing skilled specimen collections for employees at private businesses within Boston, MA.

We are considering candidates with the following qualifications: LPN, RN, Phlebotomist, CNA/MA, or Paramedic with phlebotomy experience (Phlebotomy certificate preferred).

Responsibilities:

1. Perform and accurately collect specimens (phlebotomy).
2. Record patient information, including insurance details, and utilize electronic health records.
3. Discuss and review health history, diagnosis, and patient needs.
4. Educate patients on follow-up care steps.
5. Assist with billing, coding, and obtain pre-approvals from insurance companies.
6. Establish and maintain relationships with service providers.
7. Maintain professionalism and respect towards patients.
8. Provide excellent customer service.
9. Collect data and create spreadsheets.

Requirements:

1. Active license/certification.
2. Active BLS/ACLS certification.
3. Phlebotomy experience; certified phlebotomist preferred.
4. Experience with medical scheduling and EMR systems is a plus.
5. Customer service-oriented with excellent bedside manner.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
7. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
8. Personal laptop or tablet required.
9. Reliable commuting ability throughout Boston, MA.
