Job summary

Carbon Health in the United States is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical operations. You will take vitals, obtain patient history, triage, assist with procedures such as incision and drainage and wound care, and administer medications by injection routes.

You will perform point-of-care testing (urinalysis, pregnancy tests, glucose, Monospot, rapid strep, flu, HIV), handle front-desk duties (registration and insurance verification), and pursue DOT certification to perform urine drug

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current BLS certification, willingness to obtain DOT certification.
• 1+ years experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Great communication skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals, patient history and triage.
• Assist with incision and drainage, lacerations and wound care.
• Administer medications via intradermal, intramuscular and subcutaneous routes; complete EKGs.
• Conduct POC lab testing such as urinalysis, pregnancy test, glucose, Monospot, rapid strep, flu and rapid HIV testing.
• Manage the front desk and perform receptionist duties (patient registration, insurance verification).
• Complete training and become certified with the Department of Transportation to perform Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests.
