Job summary

InterMed in South Portland, ME is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammograms in accordance with ACR guidelines, while maintaining exceptional patient communication and comfort.

You will collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams, ensure MQSA compliance, participate in QC duties, and contribute to ongoing education and training for staff. Requires ARRT Mammography certification and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• AMA-accredited Radiography program completion.
• Minimum 8 hours of digital mammography training.
• Minimum 8 hours of digital tomosynthesis training.
• ARRT advanced certification in Mammography.
• Prior radiology experience preferred.
• Ability to use independent judgment.
• Knowledge of breast anatomy and physiology.

Responsibilities

• Operate mammography equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms according to orders and protocols.
• Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Stay current on MQSA EQUIP program and quality control duties.
• Collaborate with radiologists and health-care teams to ensure timely results.
