Job summary

UCLA's Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center seeks a Per Diem Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide on-demand patient care and clinician support. You will perform vital signs, injections, wound care, patient education, rooming, specimen collection, and EHR documentation in primary care and specialty clinics.

Licensed Vocational Nurse in California with supervision by LVN Supervisor will be required; per diem shifts and on-site duties support UCLA students’ health and wellness needs.

Qualifications

• Effective written and oral communication (Required).
• Ability to utilize current technology to provide up-to-date medical care, charting, and communication with students and staff.
• Ability to effectively use a PC and knowledge of software such as MS Office, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to review laboratory tests and x-ray reports based on accepted 'normals' as prescribed by MD/NP consultants.
• Ability in communication theory and application, including interviewing.
• Ability to interact diplomatically to establish rapport and maintain positive working relationships with staff, students, administrators and personnel in other departments.
• Ability to complete tasks as instructed and set priorities.
• Working knowledge in basic nursing, medical and surgical procedures using aseptic technique.
